Hello and welcome to HILL LOVE! I’m Kenya, a wife and homeschooling mother of 3 living by faith in a season of transition. I was “born and bred” in New Orleans, which is where my LOVE of food began. Our family lived in Houston, Texas for over 13 years and recently moved half way across the country to Macon, GA. This has come with many sacrifices which God is using to mold me in many ways.
Since our move my son has had all kinds of allergies and food restrictions causing us to become a bit more creative in our baking and cooking. Baking is my therapy and my love language, and I was afraid it was one more thing that had been taken away from us. With trial and error we are finding our way back to food we LOVE and a new path.
HILL LOVE is about many of the ways we show and experience LOVE at our house. Whether it’s BAKING, cooking, SHARING an encouraging word, or simply growing in grace as we learn, it all leads back to LOVE. It leads back to the most amazing LOVE of all. Join me as I explore what God has in store. Hopefully, you’ll find something you can use to show some LOVE of your own.
“Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ…” 2 Peter 3:18
“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is LOVE.” I Cor. 13:13

Hi Kenya,
I’ve been exploring your blog some more and it has been a pleasure to read through some of what you shared.
We’re on our 6th year as homeschoolers in a country half-way around the world from yours yet our challenges are the same. I understand where you’re coming from and I want to let you know that you are not alone, literally and spiritually.
I hope you will continue to share your journey and keep looking at everything through His eyes.
Warmly,
Mary

Mary,
Thank you for looking around. What a blessing to receive your words and to know God connects us all. There are many days I feel alone, but he is so good at sending gentle reminders to show we are not. Thank you for allowing him to use you.

It’s been a while. Thank you for keeping me in your prayers. I know God is working some things out and I, unfortunately, have been struggling to fully get with the program. I look forward to being more in touch. I need to keep moving. How are you and your lovely family?

I was just thinking of you! I miss hearing from you. I totally understand your struggle. I have been going through some struggles too. I know God is working through some things with me and some days I barely get through the basics of my day. We are all doing well. I will continue to pray for you my friend. Being a mom is a tough job and with the many hats we wear daily, it can be hard to keep up. Always remember God is faithful and He is with you always. He knows and understand your struggles. Just keep praying and allowing Him to do His work in you. I look forward to hearing from you again soon. Please keep in touch, ok? Blessings.

We are well! So glad to hear from you. I hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day. Things have been busy over here, and I’m sure you can relate. I’ve been thinking about you a lot. Thank you for continuing to reach out. Hearing from you brightens my day. I hope you are navigating your way through your recent struggles. I hope to post something very soon. I feel I’ve become to used to being away.

What a treat to hear from a special friend! It sounds like you have a much going on. I can totally relate. I just got through an especially long week as my husband was traveling for work. Running everything solo makes me appreciate him so much more. Fortunately, I was so busy I didn’t have much time to think about anything. Just going and surviving 🙂 I hope things slow down a bit for you so you can come back for a visit again soon. Family takes precedence, so good for you prioritizing. Hope to hear from you soon! Blessings.

Running solo is HARD. Glad to hear you survived. I hope the schedule is looking more manageable these days. You are a special gift friend. I think it’s time I get back on this computer thing.
